This year at Brazil Independent Games Festival or BIG Festival 2019, the lead designer of the critically acclaimed Dead Cells will be taking to the stage to discuss challenges faced while creating the bestselling title of 2018, Dead Cells. Sebastien Benard will share his insight and experience on creating the 2018’s Best Indie Game of the Year at the 7th Edition of BIG Festival later this month.

According to the official press release, Sebastian Benard has been making games since he was 7 or 8 years old and he loves making games. He has participated in numerous game jams since late 2010 and he is one of a kind multi-classed developer and graphics artist. During his time at the BIG Festival 2019, he will share with the audience specifics about how different unexpected things can be important for the video game.

He will discuss how things, like cheating in favor of the player all the time or taking too much time tweaking the player controls, proved to be really important for the success of Dead Cells. Apart from this, he will also share his views on how the co-op company structure of Motion Twin actually helped build the game.

Dead Cells BIG Festival 2019

During the Festival, Sebastian Benard intervention is scheduled for June 28 between 10 am and 11 am (GMT -3) at Club Homs, Avenue Paulista, 735, Sao Paulo, Brazil. If you don’t know, BIG Festival is a partnership between Brazil Games and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) as part of Brazil Games’ efforts to further consolidate and promote the Brazilian Game Industry globally.

The 7th Edition of BIG Festival dubbed as BIG Festival 2019 is taking place in Sao Paulo later this month from June 27 to June 30, 2019. During this Festival, the organizers will hold completions between Brazilian and foreign games witch cash prizes, an exhibition of selected games, awards ceremony, lectures as well as business rounds.
