Cyberpunk 2077 Gunplay Is A Mix Of Realistic And Arcade

Cyberpunk 2077 Gunplay

Cyberpunk 2077 is a shooter RGB game and that is why the gunplay element of the game is very important. This is one of the reasons why CDPR has gone for a first-person perspective for the game even though fans were not happy when they first mentioned this publicly. Quest director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz talked about Cyberpunk 2077 gunplay and he mentioned that it will be a blend of realistic and arcade gunplay.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an RPG so you have stats for damage and other specifics. Enemies also have stats. This means that the gunplay is not going to be super realistic but this does not mean that it is completely arcade-like either. There is a balance between the two. The following is what Tomaszkiewicz had to say in this regard:

I think it would be something in between, because it is an RPG and we have statistics, damage and so on. And as you know, enemies also have stats, then it is not super realistic like a World War II title where a shot means to be dead, but I would say that it does not reach the level of arcade like the examples you have described (In this case they were Borderlands and Bulletstorm). Here you still need to cover yourself, then you can not just jump and avoid enemies. Although there are ways to play the title in this way using for example the melee weapon we saw last year, the katana. And if you move in this direction you will achieve a more arcade style for your character. In short, I would say it would be something in between.

While he did talk about Cyberpunk 2077 gunplay, he did also mention that there are some mechanics of the game that are being worked on right now and have yet to be revealed. CDPR has confirmed that it will be there at E3 2019 and that the team has prepared a strong presentation. So we could learn more about the game at the expo.

Tomaszkiewicz also talked about the NPCs in Cyberpunk 2077 and he mentioned that the characters will be memorable like Ciri and Geralt. This is very interesting indeed. We are waiting for more information regarding the game and are looking forward to a playable demo soon.
