With digital copyright rights getting stronger and stronger, it is getting pretty hard for YouTubers and Content Creators to make videos that abide by all these laws. The most commonly claimed content on video game livestreams, gameplay walkthroughs, and Let’s Plays is the in-game music which sometimes comes on unexpectedly while playing video games. For this very reason, CD Projekt Red has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will ship with a content-creator friendly feature.
Cyberpunk 2077 will come with a ‘Disable Copyrighted Music’ option which will prevent any accidental playback of any sort of copyrighted music in the game. Turning this option will ensure that anyone recording for YouTube and streaming live on platforms just as Twitch will not have to worry about any sort of copyright claims on the content that they create.
According to CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077 will ship with a ‘beautiful, robust original score created by our in-house composers’ along with over 150 songs created by artists from all over the world. This makes it extremely difficult for content creators to manually turn off and then turn the music back on again once the copyrighted part is over. However, with the new feature turned on, content creation will be extremely easy for anyone.
The official press release states:
The last thing we want is for you to run into any copyright issues. Because of this, we have created a dedicated feature for content creators. The “Disable Copyrighted Music” toggle, available in the game’s settings, will disable a small portion of in-game tracks, streaming of which could otherwise result in demonetization or takedowns of your videos or stream clips/VODs. Be sure to have this option enabled before you start streaming or recording your Cyberpunk 2077 content!
CD Projekt Red also recently revealed the updated PC requirements for Cyberpunk 2077. Cyberpunk 2077 is slated for release on December 10, 2020, on Stadia, PC, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series.
