IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios have revealed a brand-new addition to 007 First Light’s cast, Gemma Chan. Gemma Chan is known for her work in Marvel’s Eternals, Crazy Rich Asians, and The Creator, and now she will be bringing her acting talent to the world of 007 First Light. She will not only provide her voice but also her likeness to MI6’s Head of Tactical Simulation, Selina Tan.

Gemma Chan’s cast was announced during the Xbox Showcase at Tokyo Games Show 2025. This is the very first such role for the actress, and she expressed her excitement as:
Joining the world of James Bond in video games has been such an exciting experience. Selina Tan is a fascinating character, and I can’t wait for players to meet her. Bringing Selina to life in 007 First Light has been an absolute privilege.
In the game, Gemma Chan is playing Selina Tan, who is a senior MI6 figure who oversees the agency’s Tactical Simulations division, a program designed to test and refine the skills of Britain’s most promising recruits. She was once a rising star in academia with a background in psychology and strategy. She also made her mark in the private sector, where she led advanced research in immersive technologies, before joining MI6 to spearhead the Tactical Simulation Division.
Hakan Abrak, CEO at IO Interactive, also commented:
We are delighted to welcome Gemma Chan to the ensemble cast of 007 First Light. Her experience and emotional range will bring a lot of depth to the character of Selina Tan. With her performance, I believe players will experience an added layer of authenticity and cinematic storytelling that feels right at home in the world of espionage.
