THQ Nordic has announced the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version release date of Biomutant and it will be a free upgrade for all existing owners of the game. Biomutant will release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 6, 2022, and it will bring the definitive version of the game to the current-gen consoles with smoother frames and more beautiful visuals than ever. It will also have ultra-fast loading times, native 4K resolution, HDR support, and up to 60 FPS on all consoles.

PS5 Tech Details:
Choose between three different graphic modes
- Quality: 30 fps @ 4k resolution
- Quality Unleashed: 40+ fps, averaging 50-60 fps, up to 4k resolution
- Performance: 60 fps locked @ 1440p
Apart from using the console’s power to its full potential, the game also uses the advanced features offered by the PS5 DualSense controller. You will be immersed in the game as you will get haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, motion control, and speaker sound. PS5 players will also get PlayStation-exclusive activity cards which offer a variety of different ways to jump straight back into Biomutant. PS4 players will be able to upgrade their version to the PS5 one for free and carry on with their PS4 saved files on the PS5.
Xbox Series X|S Tech Details:
Xbox Series X will offer players native 4K resolution with up to 60 FPS while the Xbox Series S will offer 1440p resolution with up to 60 FPS. It will offer three different graphics modes as well:
- Quality: 30 fps @ 4k resolution (1440p on Series S)
- Quality Unleashed: 40+ fps, avg. 50-60 fps, up to 4k resolution (1440p on Series S)
- Performance: 60 fps locked @ 1440p (1080p on Series S)
All Xbox One version owners will be able to upgrade to the Xbox Series X|S version for free as well and continue their adventures on the new platforms from their old save files as well.
Biomutant will release for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 6, 2022, and it will cost $39.99. All previous-gen console owners will get their respective current-gen updates for free. Since its initial release, THQ Nordic has been releasing various updates to further improve the game based on community feedback.
