Apex Legends Switch

Respawn Entertainment and Panic Button have confirmed the Apex Legends performance details on the Nintendo Switch, revealing the game’s resolution and frames running on the portable Nintendo console.

In an interview with Famitsu, the technical director over at Panic Button, Andy Boggs, revealed that the game will run on 720p docked, while 576p in handheld mode, while the framerate is set to 30fps in both docked and handheld modes.

Game’s engine is the same as that of the previous Apex Legends. In fact, I ported all the code and built Switch support into the engine

The Nintendo Switch version of Apex Legends will also feature a gyro for motion aiming in mobile mode, which some players might find useful in the fast-paced action that Apex Legends has to offer. Interestingly, the developers are encouraging players to use this feature that is uniquely available on the console.

Other than that, everything in the game, including the characters and the in-game content of Apex Legends will remain the same across all platforms. This includes PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

Moving on to the cross-play details, the production supervisor at Panic Button, Dan Hahnberg has confirmed that the cross-play options can be turned off so that players on the Nintendo Switch can play against opponents on the same platform, offering some sort of balance if the players desire. When the cross-play feature is enabled, they will be matched against all other players across the other systems where the game is available.

Apex Legends is available right now on the Nintendo Switch for free. The game is a free-to-play battle royale where you play in a squad of three or two, fighting as Legends of the arena to win as the last squad standing and the champions of the arena. The game was released back in 2019 and took over by storm, and is still one of the top Battle Royale games you can play for free.
