Publisher Fellow Traveller and developer Bellular Games have announced the release date of their upcoming title The Pale Beyond. The Pale Beyond is slated for release on PC via Steam and other major PC platforms on February 24, 2023. The Pale Beyond is an adventure survival game where you will step in the shoes of an unwilling captain who is forced to navigate an inhospitable frozen wasteland while making decisions that will seal the fate of the entire crew.
The story of The Pale Beyond begins when your ship’s sister ship fails to return from a dangerous polar expedition, another crew is assembled for the perilous rescue mission aboard The Temperance. Everything is going fine so far; however, the captain of the ship mysteriously disappears after the ship becomes stuck in the ice, you are forced into Captaincy and from there, you have to manage the 24 crewmates and the 12 sled dogs.
Your goal is to keep the crew members as well as the sled dogs safe, fed, and warm as you must manage everything aboard the ship. Apart from keeping the basic needs in check, you also have to watch out for your crew mates and look after them because a mutiny can always happen on the ship. All votes are important, so you have to keep the crew on your own side. You will be managing the crew and the dogs both on the ship as well as on the land so you have to keep your chin up.
Apart from a unique art style, The Pale Beyond also features an immersive audio design as you will get to listen to original music compositions, shanties, and accordion tunes that dynamically evolve alongside your journey.
