New Tour de France 2020 Trailer Reveals its Time-Trial Mode

Tour de France Time-Trial

NACON and Cyanide have released a brand new trailer for its upcoming title Tour de France 2020 and it reveals the Time-Trial mode featured in the game. Previously, we got to see the brand new first-person camera of the game in action and today, the developers have revealed a brand new Time-Trial mode which is making its debut on Tour de France 2020.

This brand new Time-Trial mode has been developed from the ground up and has been completely redesigned. Developers wanted to do this for a long time since it was a highly-requested feature by the fans of the franchise. The new version features an actual time-trial stage of the real Tour de France which sadly has been delayed this year because of the ongoing pandemic.

The Time-Trial mode is all about achieving the best time at the event. The time-trial stage requires excellent stamina management and Cyanide took this into account. Players can adopt a time-trial position in Tour de France 2020 which allows your cyclist to rest their forearms on the bar extensions as you reduce air resistance and gain speed without any sort of increased effort however in this position, you will compromise on the bike control.

You will need to watch out for tight turns as you will need to quickly shift back to the normal pose and pick up speed and gain a few hundredths of a second as that is all what it takes for the first place in this game. For some assistance, you can turn on effort control and adjust it according to your playstyle. If not properly adjusted, you will lose your pace and end up exhausted early as well.

Along with the time-trial position, you will also have access to the aerodynamic stance in Tour de France 2020 which will allow you to have more control while going down slopes while resting and gaining some of the lost stamina along the way as well. Some more added features and improvements added to Tour de France include:

  • Liège-Bastogne-Liège (“The Old Lady”), a 266km race of steep climbs
  • A redesigned interface that provides better anticipation of the course and position of competitors
  • A deeper time-trial where posture and sprint management are crucial for success
  • A more realistic AI that grabs any attack opportunity
