Activision has announced that the classic skating games Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 are getting remasters for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The remastered editions are being made by Vicarious Visions, the same developer who made the remaster of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. Tony Hawke and Vicarious Visions are teaming up once again for the development of both remasters while Activision will be publishing the title for PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games Store.
Both Tony Hawks’ Pro Skater 1 and 2 Remasters will be released in the form of a single Remastered Collection. The Remastered Collection will feature updated 4K visuals of all the original levels featured in both games. It will also include all original characters and tricks along with extra challenges, a more refined create-a-park mode which will allow you to share your custom skate parks online along with a brand new online multiplayer modes with local multiplayer support as well.
The developer has not forgotten about the soundtrack as well however not all music will make it to the Remastered Collection because of licensing issues. Fans can still expect a large amount of music to make it into the collection. Commenting on the announcement of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+ 2, skating legend Tony Hawk himself said:
It was incredible to play the original games on PlayStation back in 1999 and to see the overwhelming response from the PlayStation community, so I’m excited to bring the game back to all the hardcore THPS fans on PlayStation again this year.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is slated for release on September 4, 2020, and pre-orders are now live across all platforms. The game will be available in a Standard Edition as well as a Collector’s Edition which includes a Birdhouse Deck.
