Polish developer Jujubee has revealed their brand new project Dark Moon which is a survival strategy game set on the moon. Players must avoid the Sun’s dangerous rays and must stick to the darkness if they want to survive. To survive, you will need to gather resources, upgrade your mobile base, make tough moral decisions and most importantly, keep moving forward and avoid the light at all costs.
Dark Moon adds a brilliant new mechanic to the Lunar survival genre by making the solar rays fatal to your survival. Since you are always on the move, your base is a mobile one called The Mechaplex and all your resources, constructions and gear must remain on this mobile base at all times. If something is left behind, the sun will destroy it with its deadly rays. Your ultimate goal is however to escape the moon so you will need to plan for your future accordingly.
As you spend more time aboard your mobile base on the moon, you will meet and interact with other survivors who would often want to join your convoy. You will have complete authority in allowing who can join your convoy and who you choose to leave behind to die on the forsaken rock. However, an efficient crew will help you run your mobile base more effectively so you cannot expect to escape the moon on your own.

Head of Marketing & PR, Pawel Nitta comments:
We’ve always wanted to tell mature and engaging stories as well as educate our players about our world. With Dark Moon we will be able to do both, to tell a story of one’s struggle to come back home from the Moon. As a real-time strategy title with survival elements, we believe the game could become an emotional journey, especially with the moral choices the players have to make along the way.
Key features of Dark Moon include:
- Solar Pressure – The Sun is destroying everything it touches; you must avoid its radiance. The Mechaplex – a giant, general-purpose engineering vehicle will stand as your base of operations. It will also serve as your getaway vehicle, thus plan your actions accordingly and escape the tireless enemy.
- Non-linear Survival – A different experience with each playthrough as each location and event may bring unpredictable results. Embrace or beware of other survivors who will want to join your convoy. Gather minerals and use their properties to increase your chances of survival.
- Manage Your Mobile Base – The Mechaplex is your means of survival; build new buildings on top of it, research new technologies, enhance your crew’s abilities, and traverse the lunar plains.
Dark Moon looks promising so far and we cannot wait to play it. The game is slated to launch on PC in June 2020.
