Offworld Industries and Knights Peak have announced a new limited-time live event, Operation Stalwart Sanitation, for Starship Troopers: Extermination, introducing a themed gameplay update centered around battlefield cleanup on the planet Valaka.
Released in its Early Access version back in 2024, Starship Troopers: Extermination has come a long way from its original form. What started as a bare-bones co-op shooter has turned into a content behemoth with the developer supporting the game with constant content and optimization updates. It has not only squashed bugs but has also added tons of new ways to experience this iconic franchise.
Starship Troopers: Extermination Operation Stalwart Sanitation Kicks Off For a Limited Time
Titled Operation Stalwart Sanitation, the new event tasks players with returning to Valaka following a major Federation victory, where the aftermath of large-scale combat has left battlefields overwhelmed with bug remains. The event reframes the game’s large-scale co-op combat into an objective-driven scenario focused on clearing environments while continuing to fend off enemy threats.
A key addition in this event is the experimental XU-9 “Spitshine” device, a new tool designed to eliminate bug residue and restore areas during missions. Its inclusion shifts gameplay toward managing environmental objectives alongside standard combat, requiring teams to balance offensive pressure with cleanup-focused tasks across active warzones.
The event maintains the game’s cooperative structure, encouraging coordinated play as squads work through heavily infested and cluttered warzones. Only this time around, instead of squashing bugs, players will be squashing slime and bug corpses off the planet. Killing bugs is always easy, but cleaning up after is the real deal.
Operation Stalwart Sanitation is available for a limited time in Starship Troopers: Extermination, with players able to participate throughout the event window on existing platforms. Previous updates for the game include Update 1.9, adding new enemy types with combat tweaks, Update 0.8, bringing Planet X-11, Bug Corpses, and more, along with the second Early Access Update, which added a much-needed Horde Mode to the game. Starship Troopers: Extermination is currently available on PC via Steam, GeForce Now, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
