Japanese Shoot em’ Up Sisters Royale Heading to Xbox One on July 10

Review: Sisters Royale

Chorus Worldwide and Alfa System have announced that their title Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire is launching on Xbox One after its successful debut on Nintendo Switch and PS4 earlier this year. The title will cost $13.99 and will allow Xbox One players to experience the cheeky, frenetic, and bullet-hell joy of this spiritual successor of the classic Castle of Shikigami. Pre-orders are now live on the Xbox Store.

Sisters Royale: Castle of Shikigami is inspired by the anime aesthetic of the 2001 classic Castle of Shikigami. The game features five sisters equipped with unique magical powers and follows the same concept of high risk, high reward which was featured in the game it takes its inspiration from. The Xbox One version of Sisters Royale supports global online leaderboards as well and caters to a wide variety of both casual and hardcore lovers of shooters. The game also recently received an SLG Edition by LimitedRunGames.

Shintaro Kanaoya, Founder of Chorus Worldwide said:

We’re super excited to be working with Alfa System to bring Sisters Royale to a global audience. The original Castle of Shikigami series is a beloved classic of the genre and having Alfa System come back to make a modern spiritual successor is thrilling. With its tongue-in-cheek storyline, gameplay, and production values from a team at the height of their 30 years in the industry, we think Sisters Royale will appeal to shmup fans of all levels, as well manga and anime lovers around the world.

Naoki Suda, Producer of Alfa System also added:

After receiving many calls for a sequel, we are happy to introduce a brand new game that retains some key elements from the Castle of Shikigami series. In Sisters Royale, the players will find the same ‘high risk, high return’ game mechanics that they enjoyed in the series, with additional obstacles that redefine the game, including slippery ice floors and wind blowing windmill.

Sisters Royale is a battle of five sisters. Their mission is to capture the heart of the angel Yashin. The game features unique magical talents and you use them to battle it out with Tension Bonus Systems. TBS is a point multiplier system based on distance from enemies and the Power-Shot System that boosts attack levels. You will find hidden fairies in the game to gain massive scores but you must risk it all as well by multiplying the TBS bonuses.
