The boss fight is comparatively easier or manageable compared to the other bosses. And we say that because of the Shrine Guardian’s slow movement speed and a few attacking moves.
How to Defeat Shrine Guardian in Kena Bridge of Spirits
The Shrine Guardian is a slow-walking boss who will slowly try to get close to you, but that doesn’t stop it from summoning smaller enemies to keep you busy, all the while getting close to hit you with a few slashing attacks with its hands.
These enemies are made to be annoying or to balance out the slow speed of the boss while it tries to get close to you, but it is nothing that you cannot handle or dodge away from. What you do have to look out for is to have total control of the fight and never let the giant boss get too close to you. Getting hit by one of its slash or combo attacks will mean a quick death for you. For this reason, you should be on the move and take focus on the smaller enemies before focusing on the Shrine Guardian.
Another attack is when the boss gathers up enough energy to leap out in front to smash you. This is the attack that you should be on the lookout for, which also happens when you have some distance between the two of you. The third type of attack is when the boss summons giant purple plants that produce a purple orb explosion. Again, you need to keep on the move when you see this attack which begins when the boss digs its hand deep in the ground.
When it comes to attacking the boss, which is ultimately the main goal of this battle, you need to focus on the yellow/golden areas on the boss’ body which are its weak points. Hitting these will instantly eat a big chunk of the boss’s health. One of the weak points is on its head, which you can easily take out with a bow and with the Focus ability slowing down time. This is not the only weak spot as you can find more on the boss’s back.
