Nioh 3 Takasugi Shinsaku Boss Battle Guide

This Nioh 3 Takasugi Shinsaku Boss Battle Guide details all the tips and tricks you need to defeat Takasugi Shinsaku. Takasugi Shinsaku is much easier compared to the previous bosses. Even though this is a Level 100 mission, the fight feels straightforward. He fights like a strong human enemy, using a katana and pistols, and his behavior is similar to revenant-type enemies. With the right setup, you can control the fight and finish it quickly.

Takasugi Shinsaku Boss Battle Guide – Nioh 3

You will face Takasugi Shinsaku Boss in The Sweet Sound of Strings Mission at level 100, and you should use Ninja Style with Dual Swords. This boss fight is of low difficulty for a higher-level boss.

Before attempting this fight, it is highly recommended to complete the three Veteran missions inside the Eternal Rift. Speak to the NPCs marked with “!” and access their missions through the Battle Scroll at a shrine. The Onmyo Veteran mission rewards you with the skill text “Summoning Basics,” which doubles your summoning seal uses. This skill is extremely powerful and should be equipped immediately. Bring your strongest summoning seals, especially Ibaraki Doji, along with any other high-damage summon you have unlocked.

How to Defeat the Boss

Since he is weak to fire, prepare your Ninjutsu around that. Equip Shrapnel Bomb, Uncanny Flame, and Shuriken to maximize pressure. Fire damage works very well here and can reduce his health if applied repeatedly. Unlike the Tokugawa boss, Ninjutsu is very effective in this battle, so you can play much more aggressively.

A strong tactic is to keep him locked in place with constant pressure. Start by throwing a Shuriken, follow with a few quick strikes, and end with a heavy finisher. Before he can fully recover, throw another Shuriken, and continue the pattern. This often interrupts him and prevents him from fighting back properly. If he begins blocking or tries to counterattack, quickly dodge around to his back, do a melee attack, wait briefly for your Ki to recover, and go back into your attack rhythm.

When your Ninjutsu stock is full, create some space and throw everything at him, especially your fire-based tools, to trigger burning. Applying fire in quick succession drains his health extremely fast.

At the very start of the boss fight, activate the Ibaraki Doji summoning seal. It deals heavy damage right away and quickly reduces his Ki. Once his Ki is low, follow up with fast attacks and Shuriken to push him into exhaustion. After that, keep rotating between summoning seals, fire Ninjutsu, and quick melee combos. Throw a Shuriken between attack chains to maintain pressure and manage Ki safely.

If executed properly, the fight ends very quickly. By the time you finish using your summoning seals and fire tools, he should be close to defeat. Stay aggressive, maintain momentum, and don’t give him time to recover.
