Summoning Guide – Nioh 3
While exploring the world, you will occasionally notice glowing blue wisps scattered across different areas. These are known as Benevolent Graves, and they allow you to summon assistance in the form of other players’ characters. These characters aren’t live-controlled, but are representations left behind by real players who choose to help others.
Players can place their own character into the world by using an item called Righteous Jasper. Once placed, that character becomes available for others to summon. If someone chooses to bring your character into their world, you’ll receive a random reward in return. Righteous Jaspers can be found while exploring or crafted through the blacksmith found in the Eternal Rift.
What You Need to Summon Allies
Summoning help in Nioh 3 always comes at a cost. To activate a Benevolent Grave, you will need an item called an Ochoco Cup. Each summon requires a certain number of these Cups. Lower-level allies tend to cost fewer Cups, while stronger ones need more. Even so, the required amount usually stays small and rarely goes beyond five.
Ochoco Cups can appear in chests or loot spots, but they are uncommon. A more reliable way to collect them is by interacting with Bloody Graves. These graves mark the locations where real players were defeated. Activating one brings that player’s character back as an enemy, turning it into a challenging duel. Winning these fights often rewards you with useful loot and a few Ochoco Cups, though higher-level opponents can be very dangerous.
Playing Together with Other Players
Beyond summoning AI-style allies, Nioh 3 also includes full co-op play. To access this, you will need to pray at a shrine during a mission and open the co-op menu. From there, you can summon visitors, offer yourself as help, or join an expedition.
When you choose to summon a visitor, it allows real players who have already cleared that content to join your mission. When you choose to become a visitor, it lets you assist others, while expeditions enable two players to explore and complete missions together.
Just like other forms of summoning, co-op also uses Ochoco Cups. You spend one Cup per player you attempt to summon, and if no one joins, the Cup is safely returned to your inventory.
