This Nioh 3 Ibaraki Doji Boss Battle Guide details all the tips and tricks you need to defeat Ibaraki Doji. Ibaraki Doji is a fast and aggressive yokai who mixes sword combos with powerful lightning magic. She can be dangerous, but with proper timing and Ninjutsu use, this fight becomes very manageable. If you explored properly and picked up collectibles earlier, you should be around level 90 or higher, which makes this battle smoother.
Ibaraki Doji Boss Battle Guide – Nioh 3
You will face Ibaraki Doji in The Oni of the Rajomon Mission at level 80, and you should use Ninja Style with Dual Swords. This boss fight is of medium difficulty.
Before entering the fight, make sure you have prepared useful Ninjutsu such as Shuriken, Uncanny Flame, and Shrapnel Bomb. The fire-based skills help burn her quickly, and once she is burning, you can strike from behind and throw Shuriken for extra damage. It is a simple but effective loop: apply fire, dodge, attack from the back, build up Ninjutsu again, and repeat. If you want better equipment before facing her, you can also progress further in the Rokuhara region first and return later.
How to Defeat the Boss
During the fight, most of her blade attacks can be avoided by dodging forward-left under her swings. Staying close helps you slip under her sword and reposition behind her. Landing hits from her back is key because it helps recharge your Ninjutsu faster. Once your Ninjutsu is full again, step away and unleash everything at once, including your summoning seal, to deal a large burst of damage.
One move you must watch carefully is her ranged lightning attack. She spins backward first, then fires two electric waves after a short delay. This is easy to recognize. When you see the backspin, prepare yourself and quickly dodge sideways twice to avoid both projectiles. There is too much time to evade, so stay calm.
After some time, fighting with her can be hard because her attack patterns can feel unpredictable. She mixes sword combos with lightning moves and doesn’t always give you big openings. Try to dodge just before her attacks connect, not too early. After some of her heavier abilities, she pauses briefly, and that is your chance to move behind her and land several hits safely.
When she enters her electric transformation phase, she becomes more dangerous. Her sword combos stay similar, but she gains new lightning attacks that hit hard and cover more space. She will also spam ranged projectiles during this time.
Instead of being aggressive, move to the edge of the arena and focus on dodging. This phase is more about survival. Dodging still helps recharge your Ninjutsu, so you can keep throwing Ninjutsu at her while staying safe. After some time, she will return to normal form.
Once she drops to around 15% health, that is the perfect moment to activate your Guardian Spirit transformation and finish the fight quickly. Saving it for the end ensures she doesn’t stand a chance against you.
