An Upgraded Version of NieR Replicant is in Development for Consoles and PC

NieR

Square Enix has announced the upgraded version of the original NieR game which is currently in development for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The announcement also comes with a teaser trailer of the upgraded version of the game.

Square Enix has partnered with Platinum Games for the development of the game, while the producer of Square Enix, Yusuke Saito has described it as a “version up” rather than a remake or a remaster. However, the new version will come with new content, new music by the original composer, fully voiced lines, and there might be a new ending as well.

Take a look at the teaser below:

The game was originally released 10 years ago in Japan, and since has got a sequel in 2017, NieR Automata. The Original NieR or NieR Replicant puts you in the apocalyptic world where you play as a brother on a quest to cure his sister of a deadly disease in the unique action RPG.

The trailer does not show any sort of gameplay of the upgrade version of the game, nor do we have any confirmed date or window of its release. NieR Replicant was a PlayStation 3 exclusive, but it now will be available on Microsoft’s Xbox One console, as well as players on PC. This will give fans a good chance to play the original game, especially after Automata. This will give them a good look into the origins of the NieR series.

On the other hand, Xbox Game Pass is set to add NieR Automata this week on April 2. The game will only be releasing on the Xbox One, but comes with all the DLC as it will be the Become As Gods Edition. This was also the same version that was previously released for the PlayStation 4.
