Developer Two Star Games and publisher V Publishing have announced that their hand-drawn horror title My Beautiful Paper Smile is out of early access. Launched earlier as an Early Access title on Steam, the 1.0 version is now available, and players can finally play the final chapter of the main story.
My Beautiful Paper Smile is set in a dread-filled dystopian world, and it combines effective storytelling with palpable suspense. The game not only builds on its main story but also reveals mysterious questions about the world itself through its environment detail and character design. The game also features a unique hand-drawn art style. Everything in the game that you see is hand-drawn with pencils.
This allows the game to have an alternative art design with a minimalist approach to sound design to create a unique atmosphere. The game features diverse gameplay that delivers an engaging ride as you switch from fighting giant spider monsters to hiding from the authorities and a gruesome end. The sound design, the art style, and the engaging story, everything combines together to deliver a horror experience that very few people expect from an indie title.
