Microsoft Asking Series X|S Users About DualSense Features

Xbox Series X DualSense

Microsoft has started a survey for Xbox Series X or Series S consoles asking the users about their experience so far with the console and what improvements can be made in the user experience especially when compared with the DualSense controller. The survey contains some general questions about the console build quality, speed, and other things. But it also includes an interesting question regarding the PlayStation 5 controller’s DualSense features.

The  Xbox console experience survey that has gone out to consumers who purchased either the Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S reveals some potentially exciting news as to the company’s future plans for the systems.

While the usual set of standardized questions appear, such as rating your satisfaction level since owning the console, there are some very specific and interesting topics that stand out one being about the Dual Sense PS5 controller.

Microsoft asks in the survey whether users are “aware of features on PlayStation controllers” that they wish were on Xbox controllers. It also asked specifically which features users wanted to see. The DualSense controller for the PS5 features adaptive triggers that can change in resistance depending on what’s happening on the screen, like when you fire a gun.

The PS5 controller also includes haptic feedback, which can create far more subtle and immersive levels of vibration according to things happening in-game. The DualSense controller’s impressive feature set has inevitably led to some Xbox owners asking for the same sort of technology to be used in the Xbox Wireless Controller, especially as developers seem to be taking advantage of them.

The controller that comes with the Xbox Series X and S also has changed from the previous generation Xbox One. It is a refined version of the previous controller and has better D-Pad, textured grips and triggers, as well as a dedicated Share button. But it still is missing features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

We will have to wait and see how Microsoft changes its controllers based on the survey feedback.
