The Italian developer behind 2024’s Enotria: The Last Song, Jyamma Games, has officially announced its brand-new project, La Divina Commedia, at gamescom 2025 ONL. La Divina Commedia is inspired by the monumental work of Italy’s most celebrated poet, Dante Alighieri, and it is an action-RPG with dark fantasy themes and hack-and-slash gameplay mechanics. It is set in a visionary universe that reinterprets the legendary imagery of Dante’s work with the iconic style of Jyamma Games.
Check out the Reveal Trailer for La Divina Commedia below:
The game takes place in a world where the Divine Comedy has supplanted the old faith and has brought about a golden age of righteousness among humanity. When dark forces subvert the promises of the poem, order collapses, and the world is thrust into chaos. Players step into the world and take control of a warrior-poet trapped in infernal depths, descend through the circles of Hell, and face increasingly powerful demons to redeem a sinful past.
Each weapon in the game has unique gameplay mechanics, and you will explore procedurally generated extraction dungeons where you will come across the spawn of hell. A narrative-driven alignment system tied to the Seven Deadly Sins and the ability to forge customizable weapons ensures that the game delivers a rich experience in strategy and variety. Some additional gameplay features will be unveiled at a later stage and closer to launch. An immersive plot and a custom character creator are also part of the game.
La Divina Commedia is currently only announced for PC via Steam; however, it will also head to other platforms, which will be announced at a later date. If you are interested in playing this game, you can head over to its official Steam page and add it to your wishlist right now.
