Red Art Games has announced that pre-orders for the limited edition physical boxed version of Kholat is now live and will release exclusively on Nintendo Switch. Only 3800 copies of the physical version will be released worldwide and you can secure yours right now for just $35. Kholat was created by Polish indie developer IMGN.PRO and is narrated by famous British actor Sean Bean.
Kholat was previously released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One where it sold over 700,000 units across those three platforms and over 3.5 users have experienced the popular indie horror game. Kholat is an exploration game featuring adventure mechanics and horror elements. It is inspired by the event known as Dyatlov Pass Incident. The game plunges players directly into the boundless scenery of the inhospitable Ural Mountains with the task of finding what really happened.
Your main goal is to trace the steps of a group of nine Russian college students who went missing in February 1959 on Kholat Syakhl. The game is played in first-person and presents a world full of intrigue and mystery. You have access to standard survival equipment including a map, compass, and flashlight. You have to make sure that you stay alive while maintaining your sanity as ghostly figures roam the world around you. Your main sense of direction in the game are scattered notes and cryptic voiceovers that will help you identify whether you are on the right path or not.
