Team Woodsalt has announced that its brand first game, a narrative-led sci-fi JRPG Woodsalt is releasing next month on PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch. Woodsalt will feature a cast of quirky characters, otherworldly locales, and a dose of existential mystery. The game is heavily inspired by the JRPGs of the 90s such as Final Fantasy and will depend heavily on dialogue and relationship building.
In Woodsalt, you play as Emcy whose penchant for sleep has steered him clear of an evacuated Earth to wake 1000 years later on Nu-Terra, a bustling city contained within a bubble. How you got here and how the whole city is based inside a bubble is a question that you must solve by exploring the world around you. As you explore the world, you will build relationships and uncover a mystery that spans the entire universe and your very existence.

Upon waking up, Emcy finds himself caught in the middle of a struggle between the people who wish to return to Earth and those to wish to remain on the Nu-Terra planet. The game plays out just like any other JRPG but there is no combat and the entire focus of the game is on story progression and exploration. Players can work towards finding the multiple endings of the game as each of their choices affects the world around them.
Key features of Woodsalt include:
- Curated Shounen odyssey free from fetch quests or filler, every chapter a full piece of the overarching puzzle and wanderlust of the city
- Multiple Endings across main and side quests including secret versions that may involve cat collecting
- Come across a dog with a space helmet: what’s not to love!
Woodsalt is releasing on PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch for $19.99 on October 13, 2020, and you can check out the official game website for more details right now.
