This Racing Game Brings Japan to PS5 Before Forza Horizon 6

Gaming Factory has announced the release date for the PS5 version of JDM: Japanese Drift Master. Gaming Factory’s drift-inspired racing game, which was initially released on PC via Steam, followed by Xbox Series X|S, will now finally allow players to experience it on PS5 as well. The developer released multiple updates for JDM: Japanese Drift Master post-launch, adding new content and quality-of-life improvements.

Japan is currently a hot location for racing games, given the recent reveal of Forza Horizon 6, which is set there. It was one of the most requested locations for a racing game in a long-time. 2025 also saw the release of Tokyo Xtreme Racer, another iconic racing franchise set in Tokyo, Japan.

JDM: Japanese Drift Master Gets PS5 Release Date

JDM: Japanese Drift Master will be released on PS5 on February 6, 2026, for a price of $34.99. The release will include all updates released previously for the PC and Xbox versions of the game, including new cars, additional story campaigns, and more. It will also have the standalone DLC Made in USA, which players can purchase for $5.99. The PS5 version was announced last year, and since then, the developer has received positive feedback from the community because the Xbox Series X|S and PC Steam releases have been praised equally by both players and critics.

JDM: Japanese Drift Master is considered a homage to Japanese street racing culture and drift. It features an open world, story-driven driving experience which blends Toge serpentines, with narrow rural roads and vast highways leading to a modern cityscape. Players will drive officially licensed cars from some of the most iconic brands like Toyota, Nissan, and Mazda. Detailed customization and tuning will allow them to create their dream machine and drift along beautiful Japanese backdrops.

JDM: Japanese Drift Master is launching on PS5 in an important release window because fall 2026 will see Forza Horizon 6, another open-world racing game, release on PS5. This gives it plenty of time to establish its position and allow players to experience Japan before Forza takes over. The press release also mentions that the Japanese release of JDM: Japanese Drift Master is a little delayed, which is ironic considering that the fact the game is set there.
