A special edition Intel Core i9-10900KS processor has leaked out online by Intel which is expected to come out soon. The previous two generations of Intel desktop processors both received limited-edition flagship CPUs and now, the 10th generation is getting a special edition CPU of its own.
The Intel Core i9-10900KS Special Edition CPU has been spotted on an Intel Software Advantage Program qualifying list. It follows the last two generations which featured limited-edition SKUs which were the Core i7-8086K and Core i9-9900KS. The main specialty of these processors was that they had the highest quality binned silicon Intel could possibly offer.
The highly binned CPUs were able to achieve exceptional stock frequencies and were unmatched in overclocking as well. The i7 8086K was the first special edition release from Intel and is one of the most notable releases honoring the 40-year anniversary of Intel’s 8086 processor.
The I7 8086K featured a 5 GHz boost speed which was a first for Intel and was at the top of the market at the time. It was a great processor with history attached to it. Intel followed it up with the i9-9900KS processor for the 9th gen lineup.
The i9-9900KS was a beast of a processor and featured an all-core turbo of 5 GHz. This was the first time such speeds were achieved on all cores. The processor was an overclocking beast as well. Currently, there is no solid info about what specifications the i9-10900KS will have. We can expect the i9 10900KS to have great overclocking potential.
For all-core-turbo, I don’t think we could expect to see 5 GHz on 10 cores just due to constraints like power and heat. If your system does have the correct equipment to overclock, that could become a possibility. As expected, the clock speeds will be higher as this is Intel’s best silicon.
It is also rumored that the processor will come with a copy of Crysis Remastered. There is currently no information about when this processor is being released.
