Crests Guide – Hollow Knight: Silksong
Below, we have detailed information on all seven crests, how you can change crests, and what type of crests are available in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
How to Change Crests
You can change the Crests while sitting on a Bench in Hollow Knight: Silksong. While you can view what types of crests you have and what tools you have equipped anywhere in the game, you can only change the crests, and the equipped tools and items while sitting on benches. The benches are found in all regions across the entire game, sometimes multiple times in the same region. Once you have unlocked at least one other crest, you can change it while sitting at a bench.

Types of Crests
Hollow Knight: Silksong has seven types of Crests for you to find and equip. These include:
- Reaper Crest – Allows you to attack with heavy, arcing slashes. It grants additional silk from killed enemies.
- Wanderer Crest – Allows you to cut swiftly and nimbly with short, precise strikes.
- Beast Crest – Allows you to tear enemies with savage slashes as you enter a wild fury and steal life from the enemies.
- Hunter Crest – Allows you to hit enemies in quick succession to build focus.
- Witch Crest – Allows you to whip the Needle in sweeping swings and leech the life out of your enemies through twisted roots.
- Architect Crest – Allows you to spin the needle as a screw that shreds the enemies. You can also spend Silk to craft new tools quickly.
- Shaman Crest –
Reaper Crest:

The Reaper Crest is present in Greymoor. Head to the location marked on the map below to begin:
After arriving at this location, use the platforms above to go up in this chamber.
Continue going up using the platforms.
Eventually, you see the dead bug lying above. Claim the crest here. Keep pressing B to bind with it, and you will unlock the crest.
Wanderer Crest:

The Wanderer Crest is found in the Chapel of the Wanderer, located in Moss Grotto. To gain the Wanderer Crest, you must head to Bone Bottom at the location shown below:
This is the left side where you first come out of the first section of the game and turn right to go to Bone Bottom. Head left from this side, and you will come to this huge entrance.
Continue heading left, down the platforms, and cross the small pond.
Ahead, you will come across a giant structure. Enter it.
Inside, continue dropping down on the right side.
Drop further down when you come to the first opening on the floor below.
At the bottom, go left, and then drop further down through the opening in the floor.
Once you reach the floor at the bottom, go right, and you will find this crest on a body. Bind with it and you will unlock it for us.
Beast Crest:

To get your hands on the Beast Crest, you must head to the right exit of Hunter’s March. We have marked the location below for you:
After arriving here, start heading left, where you will find the body of a giant dead bug.
He has the crest, so bind with it, and you will obtain the Beast Crest.
Hunter Crest:

The Hunter Crest is found in the Weavenest Atla. It is the bonus area that you can open after getting the Needolin upgrade. After learning the Needolin upgrade, head to the entrance found in Moss Grotto marked on the map below and play a tune using the Needolin. This will open the gate for you and allow you to enter Weavenest Atla.
Inside Weavenest Atla, head to its bottom-right section to meet with Eva. Her location is marked on the map below:
Once you arrive here, you will come across a locked chamber. Interact with it. Allow Eva insight, and you will unlock the Hunter Crest.
Witch Crest:

The Witch Crest is awarded to you by completing the Twisted Bud quest. Once you have the Steel Spines, go back to Yarnaby to complete the Infestation Operation Wish, and you will be rewarded with the Witch Crest. Once you have collected the required number of spines, return to her home.
Give Yarnaby the spines, and this will complete the Wish. Once complete, you will be rewarded with the Witch crest.
Architect Crest:

The Architect Crest is located in the Twelfth Architect’s workshop. You will need to purchase the Crafting Kit and the Architect’s Key to access it. Start by heading to the Underworks Ventrica as shown on the map below:
After arriving here, head right to enter the next room. In the next room, go up one platform and hit the switch ahead to extend the bridge. Once it does, go further right.
Cross the bridge and then jump down further to enter the next area.
In the next area, jump up once again to reach the platform higher than the current one and go right.
Before the dead bug up ahead, there is a path leading up. Jump up here and head up.
As soon as you climb up here, there is another path leading up. You need to go up here as well.
After climbing a little, there is a path heading right. Head right.
You will arrive in the Bench room. Go further right here, and after crossing the switch on the floor, jump up and use the hook ring to reach the platform above.
Hit the switch on the wall, and you will arrive at the Twelfth Architect’s shop. You will need to buy two things from the shop. The first one is the Crafting Kit, which costs 450 Rosary Beads, and the second item is the Architect’s Key, which costs 110 Rosary Beads. Buy both items before progressing.
After acquiring both these items, head to the right side, hit the switch on the wall, and enter the next area. As soon as you enter, look for a way above and jump above to reach the first path leading left. Hit the switch here and go further left.
In the next room, jump across the gap, hit the next switch in the wall, and enter through the door that opens.
At the end of this room, you will find a structure bearing the Architect’s sign. Use the Architect’s Key here, and it will grant you access to the Chapel Of The Architect.
Inside the chapel, go right, and you can claim the Architect Crest by binding with it.
Shaman Crest:

You can get the Shaman Crest in the Snail Shaman’s Shrine in Moss Grotto. You must have the Silk Soar ability, which is unlocked during Act III of the game’s main story. Once you meet all requirements, you can head to the point marked on the map below:
Enter the Snail Shaman’s Chapel and go right. Cross the snails and reach the end of the path. Use the Silk Soar ability here to jump high into the roof of this area and get to the path beyond it.
On the path above, jump right to land on the platform and enter the next area. The next area has a spike pit. Jump and dash to cross it.
At the end of this path, jump further down. After landing on the floor, start heading left, and when this path ends, drop down further.
After landing, turn right and run to the end and jump down below. You will see a lot of snail shells in the background. Once you land on the ground below, you will be able to see the giant snail shell in the background. Interact with it and then bind with it to unlock the Shaman Crest.
