Hollow Knight: Silksong Bell Beast Boss Battle Guide

The Bell Beast is the second boss, or the first proper boss, of Hollow Knight: Silksong, if you do not consider Moss Mother a proper boss. You will encounter the Bell beast in The Marrow after meeting the Map Merchant and acquiring the Silk Spear. Silk Spear is a requirement for this boss battle because at the start, the boss is stuck inside huge silk webs, and you will need it to set it free before fighting it. Bell Beast Boss Battle Guide – Hollow Knight: Silksong

To find the Bell Beast, head to the map merchant located in The Marrow. From there, move left and up into the next section, and then go up to reach the upper area. To fight the boss, you must head towards the right side in the direction of the arrow at the sign. Keep going right, and you will enter a large area filled with bells. Keep going right, and you will come across the boss stuck in a silk web. Use Silk Spear and free it to start the boss battle. As soon as the boss is free, it will jump back underground and initiate the battle.

The Bell Beast has two main attacks that it will initiate during the first phase of the boss battle. It will go underground, come out at a location, and charge you. Look for the ground shaking and smoke coming out to see where it is coming from. This is the basic attack, and you can jump over the boss and land a dive strike to deal some damage. If you hear the boss roar before coming out of the ground, this means that the boss is going to come out and charge while in the air. For this attack, you must remain on the ground, and once the boss lands, you will get a small chance to land one or two hits at it.

For this phase, the boss will continue with these two attacks, so you will need to determine what type of charge is incoming and continue dealing damage to the boss. Once enough damage is done, the Bell Beast will start a new attack, where it will come out of the ground and launch two chimes on either side. They will bounce in each direction and then continue to roll in the same direction. You must jump over them to avoid them.

In the mix, the Bell Beast will often bust out of the ground and shriek, which will shake the whole room, and some chimes will fall down from the roof as well. These chimes will disappear after a few jumps, so all you need to do is avoid them long enough for them to go away on their own. From the roof, light and dust will come out, which will give you an idea about where the chimes will drop from, so keep an eye on the roof when the Bell beast roars for this attack.

In the final phase of the battle, all of the attacks will come into play in a random order, so you will need to figure out which charge is incoming, avoid the rolling chimes, and also watch out for chimes falling from the roof. Keep those diving strikes coming, and try to stay alive, and you will defeat the boss after some time. This is a straightforward boss fight, but you must be vigilant throughout the fight, or you will not survive for long.
