Yakuza: Like a Dragon recently came out for the west and now the fans of the franchise are looking forward to the future of the franchise. With Yakuza: Like a Dragon taking a brand-new RPG approach for the franchise, fans want to know whether the franchise will now stick to the new format or will go back to its roots for its next release. As reported by PCGamesN, Sega studio responsible for the Yakuza franchise, Ryu Ga Gotoku has announced that the studio will share more details about the franchise on its upcoming 15th Anniversary in December 2020. These announcements will be made during a special live stream to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the franchise. Apart from the future announcements, the studio will also share a retrospective of the 15 years of the franchise.

During the livestream, Takaya Kuroda, the voice of Kiryu Kasama, who led the first six games, and Kazuhiro Nakaya, who voiced Akira Nishikiyama in Yakuza, Yakuza 0, and Yakuza Kiwami, and Ichiban Kasuga, the protagonist of Yakuza: Like A Dragon, will also take part. The livestream is slated to go live on December 8, 2020, at 3:00 PST and will be hosted on the developer’s official YouTube channel. You can set a reminder right now for the upcoming stream slated to go live in 14 days.
As of now, neither Sega nor Ryu Ga Gotoku has shared any details about their future plans for the franchise. It could be a sequel to the newly released Yakuza: Like a Dragon or it could be a brand-new title set in the same universe.
