EA has announced the highly rumored Dead Space Remake as the developer announces the new title will feature improved story, characters, and gameplay. Dead Space Remake will only release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S and this means that we can expect amazing visual fidelity coming out from the upcoming remake.
The remake is being developed by Motive which is a studio of EA. This will officially mark the return of the sci-fi classic survival horror game as the remake will be completely rebuilt from the ground up. Technically, it will be a brand-new title while only keeping the story from the original title, so EA is focusing only on PC and next-gen consoles to develop the remake without any hardware constraints.
Dead Space Remake will be built on the Frostbite game engine as it will enhance visuals, audio, and controls massively. This will deliver an experience that will feature an improved story, characters, gameplay mechanics and more as fans of the series will fight to survive a living nightmare aboard the desolate mining starship, the USG Ishimura while trying to uncover a dreadful mystery of what happened to the slaughtered crew members of the ship.
EA has so far only revealed a teaser of Dead Space Remake and we have linked it below for you:
Phillippe Ducharme, Senior Producer of Dead Space said:
The Dead Space franchise made a huge impact on the survival horror genre when it was released 12 years ago, and I came to Motive as a fan first to specifically work on this game. We have a passionate team at Motive who are approaching this remake as a love letter to the franchise. Going back to the original and having the opportunity to do so on next-gen consoles excited everyone on the team. As we look to modernize the game, we’ve reached out to dedicated fans and invited them to provide us with feedback since the early stages of production to deliver the Dead Space game they want and for new players to enjoy as well.
Dead Space Remake follows the journey of Isaac Clarke, the space engineer who is on a mission to repair a vast, sprawling starship, the USG Ishimura however upon his arrival, he figures out that something has gone horribly wrong. The ship’s crew has been brutally slaughtered and has been infected by some alien scourge. Isaac’s partner Nicole was also aboard the ship, and she is now lost. All alone on the ship, Isaac must look for ways in order to survive against the horde of alien creatures called ‘necromorphs’.
