DJI Mavic Mini 2

DJI has released a new mini drone called the DJI Mavic Mini 2 and it packs tons of impressive features for its small size. The DJI Mavic Mini 2 brings 4K video, RAW photos and doubles the connectivity range from its predecessor, the DJI Mavic Mini which was the smallest and lightest full-featured drone on the market at the time of release.

The Mavic Mini 2 has the same look as its predecessor and also weighs the same 249 grams which mean that you won’t have to register it with the FAA. The DJI Mavic Mini 2 comes with the company’s OcuSync 2 wireless connectivity for up to 2.5 times the wireless range and more stable connectivity and this model has a 10KM connectivity range which is double than of its predecessor.

The Mini 2 has increased the video resolution up to 4K at 30 frames per second at a 100Mbps bitrate, up from the 2.7K, 25/30p @ 40Mbps video the original Mavic Mini was capable of. Mini 2 can also capture RAW photos now instead of JPG only. The new model still has the small 1/2.3-inch sensor and the camera still shoots 1080p at up to 60fps.

Mini 2 also uses the same controller as the new Mavic Air 2 although with less advanced features available. DJI has also upgraded the Mini 2’s flight motors for faster acceleration and a top speed of 35.8 mph and 31 minutes of battery life on a full charge. The original Mavic Mini had a top speed of 29 mph and 30 minutes of battery life on a full charge.

The DJI Mavic Mini 2 will start from $449 for the drone, controller, and single battery combo and if you are going for the Fly More Combo, it will cost you just $599. It is $50 more than the original, but considering the upgrades, it is worth the increased price.
