This Desperados 3 Character Skills Guide will show you all the character and their skills that you can find in the game. There are 5 main characters in Desperados 3 that you can play as. Each of the characters comes with their own set of skills, with active and passive abilities.
There isn’t a best character in the game, as one may have a different ability compared to the other. What may seem like easy tasks like picking locks, swimming around, carrying two enemy bodies, are all special to certain characters.
Desperados 3 Character Skills Guide
Below we have detailed all the characters and their skills in the game.
Cooper
This is the first character that you get in the first mission of the game. Cooper can basically do all activities like swim, climb ladders, and ropes. The only exception is that he can not pick locks and carry 2 bodies.
Cooper’s active skills are:
- Knife: This weapon can be used to melee enemies in close range. It can also be used for other tasks like cutting rope.
- Throw Knife: This is the most practical skill where Cooper throws the knife at the enemy, killing them in a few seconds. This attack can attack other enemies as it makes noise.
- Coin Toss: a fake coin to lure or distract enemies.
- Guns: Cooper has 2 revolvers that have their own keys to fire each weapon. Guns require ammunition which easily depletes if not careful.
Doc McCoy
Doc is the second character in the game, who is only good for picking locks and climb ladders. Every other task is out of his capability. However, having him on your side is important as he is the only lockpicking character
McCoy’s active skills are:
- Syringe: sneak behind an enemy and use the syringe to kill enemies
- Chloroform: knock out enemies by stunning them with this item. Opponents are temporarily knocked out.
- Swamp Gas Vial: a powerful item that stuns enemies in a radius.
- The Doctor’s Bag: this is a better distracting item that can also blind the enemy when they open it. This can be used only once and has to be retrieved after use.
- Bandages: These can be used to heal allies and restore 2 health points.
Hector Mendoza
Hector is a powerful character, who comes with more health than any other character. He is also quite fast in carrying bodies and can carry 2 bodies without any problem. He can also climb ladders, but any other task is out of the question.
Hector’s active skills are:
- Axe: a weapon used for melee attacks from close range. Can kill Long Coats.
- Bear Trap: a trap that can be set on the ground to catch enemies. This can be used once and has to be retrieved after use.
- Whistle: Lire enemies or distract them.
- Shotgun: a powerful weapon that has a wide range of damage.
- The Good Stuff: Healing item that completely restores health. This item has 20 second cooldown.
Kate O’Hara
Kate becomes available in the fourth mission of the game and has limited passive skills. However, she has some active skills that are useful. Kate’s active skills are:
- Perfume Vial: This blinds enemies for a small period
- Kick: close range attack that stuns opponents
- Disguise: allows Kate to get a disguise and avoid being detected.
- Flirt: Distract enemy who will only focus on Kate. This ability only works when if Kate has a disguise on.
- Pistol: Kate’s weapon is pretty silent and can kill enemies from medium to short range.
Isabelle Moreau
Isabelle is another character that is good in voodoo and magic. Her passive skills pretty much allow her to traverse anywhere with ease. Isabelle’s active skills are:
- Sickle: Kill enemies from close range
- Connect: connect two enemies together two deal the same effect to each target. Stunning one target will also stun the other.
- Stella: Isabelle’s pet cat can distract enemies.
- Mind Control: control the mind of opponents to pick items and attack other enemies.
- Jimson Weed: health item that can also heal allies. Restores 1 point.
