Right after Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Marvel’s Avengers are delayed, we now have another major delay of 2020. CD Projekt Red has announced that its highly-anticipated title Cyberpunk 2077 is also being delayed for a whopping five months. 2020 is just 16 days in and this is the third biggest delay of this year so far. Similar to Square Enix, CD Projekt Red has also stated that they need more time to polish the game. It will now release in September 17, 2020.
In their official announcement, which was made on their social accounts on numerous platforms, the developer announced that Cyberpunk 2077 is currently in its complete form and the game is completely playable at this point. However, despite being in its complete form, due to the vastness of the world and the complexities involved in the mix, the developer wants more time to ensure that every tiny bit is perfect and polished when the game comes out. This can be extremely time-consuming considering the scale of Cyberpunk 2077.
The note was posted by Co-Founder, Marcin Iwinski and Head of Studio, Adam Badowski. They also stated that despite the title now delayed, players can expect even more frequent updates from them regarding Cyberpunk 2077. You can check out the official notice posted by CD Projekt Red below:

As much as we were all looking forward to playing Cyberpunk 2077 in April 2020, we are happy to see that CD Projekt Red is taking every necessary step to ensure that the delivered product is final. Even with so much hype and anticipation by fans, the developer still delayed the game by not just 1 or 2 months but a massive gap of 5 months just to ensure that the game is polished and does not disappoint the waiting fans.
