This Crusader Kings 3 Lifestyles Guide will show you what Lifestyles are and detail each of the five lifestyles in the game. Lifestyle is a new system introduced in the game that has its own skill trees and perks to unlock with the XP that you earn in the gameplay.

This allows you to tailor your character to how you want them to be, unlock the specific perks you are looking for, and get more out of the story of the game.

Below we have detailed all the Lifestyle categories and what they do.

What is Lifestyle

There are five Lifestyle categories in the game, with each category containing three full skill trees. The first part of unlocking a Lifestyle is to choose the one that you want, and then select a focus within the Lifestyle. The five Lifestyles are:

  • Diplomacy
  • Martial
  • Stewardship
  • Intrigue
  • Learning

Focus

Focus allows you immediate bonuses, where it allows you to pick the focus that provides the modifier that you need the most for the time being. Depending on the Lifestyle you choose, you can pick any Focus in the Lifestyle to gain XP from it.

Each of the Focus has its own unique set of events, that are connected to the theme of the Focus. For example, if you have chosen the Temptation focus, you will get events that will manipulate your vassals and guests, allowing you to find secrets and gaining hooks.

Perks

Picking a Focus will also allow you to start getting XP, getting you close to unlocking perks in the game. Perks can be unlocked with the experience points that you gain, allowing you to unlock special modifies, decisions, casus bellies, and even schemes.
