Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time has been leaked online by the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee. Apparently the game is very close to being announced for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The listing also comes with the cover art, which looks legit, and the game description. Activision usually releases its game a year later for PC, which is why the listing is probably talking about the two consoles only at this point.
The description of the game has been translated by Google, but it does give a little idea of what to expect from the game.
Crash is relaxing and exploring his island in his time, 1998, when he finds a mysterious mask hidden away in a cave, Lani-Loli. The mask is one of the Quantum Masks and apparently knows Aku-Aku, Crash’s mask friend! With the Quantum Masks returning and a Quantum Rift appearing near our heroes, they decide to bravely head through to different times and dimensions to stop whoever is responsible.
On the other hand, Activision has not said anything about the game, nor have they made any announcements or shown any teasers. The cover art of the game looks quite convincing in all honesty. It also reveals the developer of the game to be Toys for Bob, developer of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
The last Crash Bandicoot game, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was developed by Vicarious Visions. However, the developer is currently working on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 Remaster. So there had to be a different developer working on Crash Bandicoot 4, which the leaked image suggests to be Toys for Bob.
We still have to wait for any confirmation by Activision. If the leaks are true, we could be seeing an announcement pretty soon in the coming months.
