CORSAIR Reveals COMMANDER DUO Lighting and Fan Controller to Unite Fan Ecosystems

CORSAIR COMMANDER DUO

CORSAIR has announced the brand-new COMMANDER DUO Lighting and Fan Controller, designed to unify fan ecosystems. It is a hybrid device that is designed to simplify custom cooling and lighting control with unprecedented compatibility. With the help of this multi-function controller, you can effortlessly control fan speed and RPG lighting with expanded connectivity. It supports PWM ARGB fans and iCUE Link-compatible devices when docked with System Hub (sold separately).

The COMMANDER DUO supports daisy-chained PWM ARGB fans, and it can also dock to an iCUE LINK System Hub. With this type of support, you can control both types of fans using iCUE Software. This significantly simplifies fan management and resolves a longstanding issue for PC builders who use both types of fans in their PCs. Two channels are available for PWM ARGB fan control that support up to six industry-standard fans per channel for a total of 12.

This also includes the new CORSAIR RS-R reverse-rotor RGB fans. Each channel can have its fan speed and RGB lighting easily synchronized and managed with the iCUE software. The COMMANDER DUO comes with two iCUE LINK connections. If you connect an iCUE LINK System Hub in one of these ports, all connected fans are managed by the System Hub, and it allows full control of all connected devices through the iCUE Software.

When docked, the controller is able to support up to 11 iCUE LINK devices, enabling simultaneous control of up to 12 PWM fans and 11 iCUE LINK fans. With this, you can manage all of your PC’s cooling with the help of a single software, iCUE. With the COMMANDER DOE controller, if you have a system with PWM ARGB fans, you can buy an iCUE LINK CPU cooler or fan kit and attach both types of fans for unified control instead of requiring two separate controllers or software.

It also comes with two temperature sensors that can be placed anywhere inside the casing, and they allow you to monitor internal temperatures and set fan speeds accordingly. For example, you can place one sensor near your GPU and the other one near an exhaust fan. This way, you can monitor the temperature at both zones and then adjust the fan speeds accordingly for maximum cooling.

To make installation easier, the COMMANDER DUO can be magnetically attached to any metal surface inside the PC, and it also comes with double-sided tape in the box if you want to mount it on any other surface. The CORSAIR COMMANDER DUO is now available worldwide online and through CORSAIR’s webstore. You can check your local stores for accurate pricing. It is also backed by a three-year warranty.
