After its initial launch delay, tinyBuild and Hungry Couch Games have announced a new release date for their upcoming title Black Skylands. Pushed forward from its June 11, 2021, Early Access release date, Black Skylands will now release in Early Access on July 9th, 2021. The game will still release in Early Access via Steam and players will be able to jump in the skypunk open-world action-adventure title while it is still in development next month.
Black Skylands was previously delayed just a week after its Early Access release date announcement and in their official statement, the developer detailed that the delay in launch is due to a number of unexpected challenges. The game is still releasing first in Early Access but still, the developer delayed the title so that the release is stable enough for players to enjoy the game. Removing as many bugs as possible and problems from a game before release is always the best strategy rather than releasing a broken product and then keep releasing fixes later.

Black Skylands is a top-down, open-world action game and it takes its inspiration from RPGs, farming simulators, sandboxes, and bullet hell games. The game is set in space where you will be fighting with factions of pirates and monsters. The game includes combat both on foot and on your vessel as you battle with space pirates and monsters to claim your own territory.
After its Early Access release, the developer has not shared additional details about a full 1.0 release or the game’s platforms. For the time being, the game will only arrive on Steam and players will be able to help out the developer in the later development of the title and preparing it for the full release. An Early Access period is not currently defined for the game as well. Additional details will be released at a later time.
