AudioClash Battle of the Bands Early Access Date Announced

AudioClash Battle of the Bands

AudioClash Battle of the Bands is set to launch in Steam Early Access on August 17 for PC. The free-to-play music competition game comes from Big Boat Interactive and the electronic rock band, The Living Tombstone.

In addition, YouTube cover artist Jonathan Young who is renowned for his metal renditions of anime openings, pop hits, and songs from animated movies will be joining the playable roster of AudioClash. Young comes alongside fellow YouTube star Charlie Green, whose video game-inspired original songs have well over half a billion views.

A new trailer for the game can be seen below:

In AudioClash: Battle of the Bands, you play as a band manager who has to assemble a team of musicians with eclectic personalities, looks and powers. You will get to recruit all kinds of musicians who are even half-human, half-reptile Christi Vipera from Tombsonas, or the heavy metal bodybuilder Ragnar Bludgard.

The game is inspired by strategic depth of card games like Hearthstone, the character collection of Pokémon, and intensity of autobattlers like Dota Underlords.

Mike Arkin, CEO of Big Boat Interactive had this to say,

When we considered how a band would battle, we thought about what each band member is doing at any given time, both for the audience and each other. The vocalist leads the offensive, lifting everyone’s spirits. The bassist? Well, they’re the base, the foundation of the song—much like a tank in RPGs.

On the other hand, Sam Haft of The Living Tombstone added,

It’s really important for us to not just pay homage to video games—which quite literally made The Living Tombstone who we are—but to truly contribute to this amazing space with something new. I’m most proud of how every ability in AudioClash is tied to a small, unique piece of music. Over the course of a battle, players are literally arranging new tracks as they duel.
