Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and everything locked down, game developers have taken the high-road and are giving free titles for people stuck at home. Ubisoft earlier announced that it will continue to give free titles to players through its Uplay platform and previously, players received Rayman Legends for free. Following this, Ubisoft is gearing up to give Assassin’s Creed II for free in the coming days while SteamDB has revealed that Steam players will get Total War Shogun 2 for free in April as well.
The news of free Assassin’s Creed II has not been announced officially by Ubisoft at this point however it was revealed by a German discount website and spotted by Daniel Ahmad. We got to know it from VG247. According to the German website, apart from the free copy of Ubisoft, Ubisoft will also give both Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed Revelations on discounts thus completing the story of Ezio. The game will be available to everyone for free starting April 14, 2020.

It turns out that Assassin’s Creed II is not the good we will be getting free this month. According to SteamDB’s listing, later in the month of April, Steam users will also get Total War Shogun 2 for free and it will be there’s to keep forever. Despite being 9 years old, Total War Shogun 2 is still one of the most challenging entries in the franchise and if you missed playing it back then, you can have a go now with one of the most unique factions ever to feature in a Total War title.
At this very moment, Steam has three titles free which can be yours forever if you add them to your Steam library. These are Transpose, Gravity Wars, and Arcade Moonlander.
