The Lost Colony update brings a large number of powerful items and brand-new structures to ARK: Survival Ascended. Many of these additions focus on enhancing combat, survival in extreme cold, creature management, and overall quality of life in the Lost Colony. In this ARK: Lost Colony Items Guide, we will show you all these new items that have been added to the game.

- Scroll through the list to see everything that was added with this update
New Armor & Utility Gear
Arctic Armor Set
This armor is designed specifically for the harsh weather of Lost Colony. It has strong armor values for survival and has high durability, making it reliable for long expeditions. It offers very good cold resistance, which is crucial on this map. It also prevents constant freezing damage that happens when wearing Flak. So, it is ideal for scouting, traveling, and exploration in icy zones.
The Arctic Armor set consists of these things:
- Boots
- Gauntlets
- Helmet
- Leggings
- Chest piece
Lost Colony Lights – Light Set
The Light Set is more about visuals than power.
- It comes with several light-sized options
- It can be placed around your base or work areas
- It turns on and off easily
- Adds atmosphere and visibility
Useful for aesthetics and visibility, but not essential.
New Weapons & Tools
Holo Decoy Grenade
This grenade spawns a holographic decoy with 2,500 HP. It attracts attention from wild and tame creatures. It can cover a large area, pulling enemies from far away.
The Decoy receives less damage than normal targets. It becomes very effective when:
- Luring large creatures into specific locations
- Distracting enemies during PvP fights
Using multiple decoys can confuse enemy movement and targeting. This item is extremely useful once players understand how to place it correctly.
Tek Spear – Extremely Powerful
The Tek Spear introduces a completely different fighting style and uses a new combat system instead of simple swings. Key features include:
- Multiple attack types for different situations
- Attacks include:
- A fast dodge move
- A powerful ground slam
- A spear throw that moves your character forward
It can also block all incoming damage until its stamina bar runs out. It can also deflect projectiles like bullets. You required very high skills and timing to use it properly. Once mastered, it becomes extremely powerful.
Fabricated Crossbow – Extremely Overpowered
It is one of the strongest new tools that has been added in the update.
Firing Modes
It has three firing modes: Standard, Marksman, and Spread Mode.
Standard Mode
- Fires multiple bolts rapidly, approximately 10
- Much faster than a normal crossbow
- Works with tranquilizer bolts
Marksman Mode
- Allows heavy zoom
- Shoots directly where you aim
- No bolt drop over distance
Spread Mode
It is the Best Mode as it fires multiple bolts at once.
- Deals massive damage and torpor
- When shot on an Ascendant version:
- It can apply around 6,500 torpor per shot
- Knock out large dinos like Rexes instantly
- Can knock out a Gigantosaurus extremely fast
- Very dangerous in PvP when used up close
Although it is short range, it becomes very devastating at close distance.
New Structures
Cryo Hospital
This structure greatly improves creature recovery while in cryopods. When a dino or creature is placed inside it, it increases its health by 10 points per second on average. It restores creature health very quickly.
It can refill food levels while stored and reduces torpor over time. It also grants passive experience and requires Tek power to function.
Perfect for:
- Healing high-health creatures
- Recovering dinos after raids
- Keeping valuable creatures safe indoors
Simply place a cryopodded creature inside and let it heal.
Blood Packs
This structure removes the frustration of Blood Pack farming and can create Blood Packs directly from creatures. It uses creature health for this purpose.
It allows you to:
- Create Blood Packs from creatures’ Health
- Heal creatures using Blood Packs
- Wake creatures using Stimulant
- Increase torpor using a Narcotic
It automatically feeds narcotics to unconscious dinos and produces large quantities of Blood Packs rapidly. This method saves enormous amounts of time and effort and is one of the best quality additions in the update.
Pet Nest
It is used to store and display shoulder-mounted pets.
- Only works for shoulder pets
- Pets placed inside:
- Gain passive health regeneration
- Gain experience over time
While on the nest, pets enter a stasis-like state, which keeps them safe while leveling. This update still has bugs, such as picking up the structure can cause pets to disappear. So, it should be used carefully.
Warbench
This structure is focused on improving loot quality.
Combine Function
- Merge three items of the same type
- Keeps the highest item quality
- Adds bonus 25% stats from the other two items
- Can reach stat limits when done correctly
- Allows you to turn average drops into top-tier gear
- Example: Three mediocre Ascendant pieces → one good-tier item
Reroll Function
- Randomly rerolls item stats
- Keeps the same item type
- Has a chance to reduce quality by 25%
- Best used on high-quality items with bad stats
Element Conversion – Blood Forge
It allows conversion between Element types.
- Converts Element to Red Element and back
- Conversion ratios:
- 1 Red Element -> 1 Element
- 2 Element -> 1 Unstable Red Element
It is more costly to create Red Element than convert it back. It is useful in specific situations, not for constant swapping
Saddles & Other Additions in ARK: Lost Colony
The update also includes several new and updated saddles:
- Solwyn Saddle
- Malwyn Saddle (higher tier than expected)
- Osiden Saddle
- Desmodus Saddle & Platform Saddle
- Tek Bunker
- Tek Spear-related crafting items
