Activision has announced that it will be releasing a new Call of Duty game this year and plans to also release remastered titles in 2020. This does not come as a surprise as it is one of the most profitable franchises and that Activision has been regular in releasing a title every other year.
We don’t know what the game will be called other than it is going to a COD that is arriving in the later stages of the year in Q4. We also don’t know who is going to be the developer of the game as it has always been rotating among three studios, Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, and Treyarch.
Activision has not stated who is going to get their turn n developing the game, but it seems that Sledgehammer might be the one developing the title as both the previous titles Modern Warfare and Black Ops 4 were made by Infinity Ward and Treyarch respectively.
CEO of Activision Bobby Kotick has also indicated that we will be getting more remasters after the success of Spyri and Crash Bandicoot remasters. Details of that are scarce but we might get some future announcements soon.
A tweet by Daniel Ahmad had some details over at his Twitter account.
