Early in MIO: Memories in Orbit, you will face Flora, also known as Sentient Pearltrap, a boss who teaches you an important lesson: small mechanics matter a lot when they work together. This fight slowly pushes you to master jumping, double jumping, and aerial attacks. This MIO: Memories in Orbit Flora Boss Guide shows all the tips and tricks you need to defeat Flora.
Flora Boss Battle Guide – MIO: Memories in Orbit
To start a fight with Flora, first you need to find the boss. You can find Flora in the Feral Undergrowth Area. To reach there, begin at the Attuner spawn point and take the door on the right leading straight into the Feral Undergrowth Area.
Stick to the lower route as you move forward. You will pass over a toxic lake, then continue heading down until you enter the boss area. Once inside, there is no turning back until the fight is over.
This encounter focuses heavily on movement rather than raw damage. Jumping well and reacting quickly to the boss’s actions will matter much more than standing still and attacking.
The first phase eases you into the fight. You can actually jump in early and land a few hits before Flora fully wakes up, but real damage only starts once the health bar appears.
During this part, Flora attacks in predictable ways. It sweeps across the floor, breaks out using vine combos, and occasionally lunges forward with its mouth. Sometimes it spits projectiles as well, forcing you to stay alert.
Staying airborne is key here. Keep jumping close to the boss so your attacks can reach it. When Flora starts preparing for an attack, the best thing to do is move to the left side of the screen and get ready to jump again. As long as you stay patient and keep attacking, Flora’s health will slowly drop. Once it reaches around half, the music changes, and the real challenge begins.
The second phase starts with Flora releasing a puddle of blue bile in front of itself. This creates danger on the ground, and you may lose your health if you step onto it, making proper jump timing and double jump even more important.
Staying near Flora is actually the safest approach. Start with a jump toward the boss, then continue attacking mid-air to keep yourself elevated. Each successful hit refreshes your jump, letting you reposition and remain aggressive without touching the ground.
If you are not able to use your jumps, the Hairpin becomes your escape tool. A well-timed Hairpin use can pull you out of danger and set you up for another attack. Keep repeating this rhythm: jump in, attack, reset your height, and move as needed, until Flora finally goes down.
Defeat Flora and you will get:
- You will meet a new NPC called the Personal Assistant, and
- Gain the Aviaries Passepartout.
