Starting Area (South Zone)
Coordinates: Lat.: 95.0 Lon.: 6.4
This is where most players begin on Lost Colony. It is one of the safest areas on the map and perfect for new survivors. So, if you want to survive in the game and do not want any action at the beginning, then this place is best for you.
You will find a large freshwater lake, as well as various animals, berries, trees, and rocks. The weather here is calmer with less snow and cold compared to other areas. There is plenty of open land to build your first base. It is not meant for the long term, but it is a great place to start and learn the map.
Secluded Springs
Coordinates: Lat.: 90.0 Lon.: 4.3
This area has natural hot springs that keep it warm even in the tundra. You will have a clear lake and waterfalls, making it a beautiful place to live.

Mountain Bridge

This spot is better for mid to late-game players. It has a huge Gothic-style bridge high in the mountains.
Under the bridge, you will find rich metal deposits, and there are trees nearby as well. The bridge itself is perfect for creative builds using Gothic structures. You can build on top of it or turn it into a strong fortress. So, this can also be a choice to build a base.
The Ruins
Coordinates: Lat.: 99.4 Lon.: 81.7
These ruins are located at the edge of the map in a frozen area. These ruins are full of danger but also provide great rewards.
Nearby infected zones contain powerful enemies like Revenants and Goons, which can be very deadly. So, you need to stay vigilant. However, the ruins give you strong stone structures to build on, amazing views, and natural defense since one side faces the edge of the map. This makes it a strong late-game base if you are prepared.
Restbite Cave
Location: Near the Ruins
This cave leads underground into the remains of an old settlement. Even though it is cold outside, the cave stays warm inside. So, if you want a warmer place, then this might be an option.
Deeper in, you will find a more secure ruined area that is easier to protect. There are two exits, giving you multiple ways in and out. Desmodus bats are the main threat here, but once you clear them, this becomes a safe and hidden base.
Plains Lake

This large lake sits in the snowy plains and offers a lot of flat land for big builds.
Water is easily available, and nearby rivers bring life to the area. Resources like wood and stone are close enough. Most creatures are peaceful, with the occasional Carnotaurus passing through. The view of the Lost King’s Fortress makes this spot extra special.
Searchlight Tower
Coordinates: Lat.: 44.0 Lon.: 64.3
This tower is inside the Lost King’s city and is a very unique location.
Your build here safely depends on your relationship with the Lost King. If you are a peaceful type of person, the area stays calm. If not, strong patrols will attack you. The top of the tower is flat and perfect for a base, providing you with a good view of enemies nearby, offering one of the best views on the map.
Outlook Tower
Coordinates: Lat.: 80.0 Lon.: 41.1
You can feel the importance and power of this tower the moment you enter. You are welcome with a voice line from the Lost King.
It has multiple flat levels, allowing you to build upward. There is water nearby. You can also find trees around the mountain, and excellent defense, since the tower can only be reached by a narrow, icy bridge. It is a great choice for players who want safety and style.
Borderlands Outpost
Coordinates: Lat.: 50.2 Lon.: 93.8
This abandoned outpost is on the edge of the map and feels like a forgotten town.
You will need to clear all the hostile creatures first. After defeating and killing all the hostiles, and once secured, it is easy to rebuild and defend. There is a tunnel behind the outpost that leads straight toward the main city, making this a strong strategic base for late-game players.
Central Valley
Coordinates: Lat.: 64.8 Lon.: 27.0
You can say that the Central Valley is the best base location on Lost Colony.
It is at a prime location. It is located in the middle of the map and has a long river, plenty of trees, many dinosaurs, and nearby crash sites. You get amazing views of the Gothic city while staying close to important areas. This spot has everything. It gives you space, resources, and freedom to build however you want.
