In Digimon Story: Time Stranger, Cross Arts are powerful, special, and signature abilities your agent can use in battle. Knowing when and how to unlock them gives you a big edge in tough fights against powerful enemies and their Digimons. In this Digimon Story: Time Stranger Cross Arts Guide, we will learn about each Cross Art, what they do, how to use them, and how & when you can unlock them.
How to Get & Use Cross Arts
When you are fighting with your enemies, you are gaining some achievements and passive buffs by attacking and defeating them. In Cross Arts (Agent’s special move), to get it, players must have to collect enough Critical Points (CP). You can only equip one Cross Art at a time, so choose the Cross Art that fits your battle situation, like offense, healing, or defense.
During fights, you build Critical Points (CP) by attacking enemies or healing the Digimon party and allies. Hitting enemies’ weak spots gives you more CP. When your CP bar reaches its peak/maximum, the X-Arts command appears next to Skills.
On consoles, to activate your special move, known as Cross Arts, you press R2/RT to open the Cross Arts menu and use the ability. Using a Cross Art consumes one turn in battle. These Cross Arts are very best at affecting your enemies’ health when you attack them and cancel the status effects.
All Cross Arts, Effects & Unlock Cost
The first Cross Art, Field, is unlocked automatically during the Kuwagamon boss fight as part of the main story. And after that, further Cross Arts are unlocked by spending Anomaly Points in the “Bonds of Loyalty” part of the Agent Skill tree.
Following is the list of all Cross Arts, what they can do, and their CP cost.
| Cross Art | Unlock Cost | Effect |
| Aura | Cost 40 | When activated, it will heal a moderate amount of HP and give immunity to status effects and stat-reduction for all of your allies. |
| Break | Cost 50 | When activated, it deals Minor Damage to all the enemies. And can also reduce the enemies’ ATK/DEF/INT/SPI/SPD by 25% for a total of 4 turns. It will also never miss its intended target. |
| Burst | Cost 30 | When activated, it deals Massive Damage to all enemies, and it will never miss its intended target. |
| Field | Already unlocked during the Kuwagamon boss fight | It will unlock and boost all allies’ ATK / DEF / INT / SPI / SPD by 50% for 2 turns; after that, it will go on a cooldown. To again activate it, accumulate enough CP points. |
| Heal | Cost 50 | When activated, it will heal 100% HP and SP, and overheals by 200% HP and SP of the target’s max. It can be applied to a single friend or ally. |
| High Field | Cost 100 | When activated, it will boost all allies’ ATK/DEF/INT/SPI/SPD for a total of 3 turns by 50%. It will also have no impact on magic/physical damage for a single turn. |
| Reverse | Cost 40 | When activated, it deals Moderate Damage to all enemies, and it will never miss its intended target. Also, apply Reverse to the enemies, which means you can reverse the enemies’ attacks. |
| Revive | Cost 50 | When activated, it will revive an ally with Moderate HP. It can also apply Guts to the ally, which helps him not to drain all his HP by taking drastic damage. It can be applied to a single friend. |
| Strike | Cost 40 | When activated, it deals Extreme Damage to a single enemy, and it will also never miss its intended target. |
