Biomutant Explanation Trailer

With the release right around the corner, THQ Nordic has released an explanation trailer for the upcoming Biomutant that explains what the game is all about. The six-minute-long trailer, narrated by the Art and Creative Director Stefan Ljungqvist at Experiment 101, goes over everything that you would probably still want to know about the game. Check out the trailer below before we jump into further details:

In the trailer, Stefan Ljungqvist details that structure-wise, the game can be described as a weird mix of open-world of Breath of the Wild and action of Ratchet & Clank, Batman Arkham, and Devil May Cry. These titles were not really the inspiration for Biomutant however the game sometimes feels like most of these titles in terms of gameplay and how you explore the world. The map is 8×8 KMs long and is filled with plenty of weird events and things for you to find.

The game also features a diverse customization system where you will be able to customize the stats of your Biomutant according to how you want it to be. Apart from stats, the visual look of your Biomutant will also be customizable according to your own style. You can also craft your own clothes including hats, clothes, and shirts. Each weapon can also be customized with various accessories that improve them further. Broken things can be upgraded however nothing in the game diminishes.

There are six tribes found all over the world that have their own unique leaders. Each tribe has mastered its own unique combat style as well. All of these tribes are now in conflict with each other. Three of these tribes have a light aura whereas three of the tribes are of the dark aura. When the game starts, you have to choose allegiance with one of these tribes however you can later switch your alliance as you progress in the story.

At the heart of this world, is a huge tree which sits right in the middle of the map. It is called the Tree of Life and it is the representation of the world and how it changes. The light aura tribes will try to save the world and to save the world whereas the dark aura tribe does exactly the opposite to this. They believe in destruction and the ‘cleansing’ of the past to move forward. As the name states, the game also has different mutations for you to use in the game.
