Firefly Studios revealed a brand new gameplay trailer of Stronghold: Warlords along with its Special Edition at Gamescom 2020 last weekend. The new trailer details the Japanese singleplayer campaign of the game for the first time that follows Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The trailer comes with developer commentary as well that showcases the new ‘Warlord System’ and gives a closer look at the new Ninja and Warrior Monk units coming to the game.

We’re overjoyed to see how the community reacted to our recent delay announcement and I think the footage we showed during Gamescom really displays the level of polish we’re shooting for. The digital special edition should really appeal to fans of the series, especially the making-of documentary. The developer also revealed the Digital Special Edition for Strongholds: Warlords that will be available at launch. It will cost $49.99 and will come with the game’s soundtrack, a digital artbook, and a full feature-length Making of Stronghold Warlords documentary with developer interviews and behind the scenes footage from the last three years of development. All Special Edition owners will also get a free copy of Stronghold HD on Steam.
