The Last of Us Part 2 Getting Grounded Mode and Permadeath Options

The Last of Us Part 2 Grounded

Naughty Dog just updated the trophies list for their recently released game, The Last of Us Part 2, which suggests that a Grounded Mode and permadeath options are headed to the game soon.

The updated trophies list includes the Grounded mode, which if you aren’t familiar is a hardcore mode that increases enemy damage by three times, removes the Listen Mode which allows you to track and see enemies, removes the HUD, and does not highlight objects in the world. This option will bring out a level of realism, enhancing the survival aspect of the game.

The Last of Us Part 2 Grounded

As you can see from the screenshot shared by Polygon, the Grounded Mode contains two trophies. The “Dig Two Graves” trophies are earned when you complete the full story in Grounded Mode. The other trophy is the “You Can’t Stop This” which requires you to complete the story with any Permadeath setting.

Permadeath is when players die and have to start over with the story all over again. It adds to the difficulty when playing Grounded mode where enemies will already be quite tough to face or track. However, one of the trophies mentions that there are Permadeath settings, which means that there maybe some settings for Permadeath that you can play around with.

You can currently check all the trophies on your PlayStation 4 console by going to the game’s Trophies menu. The Grounded mode and the permadeath options are not currently available in the game, and Naughty Dog has not announced any release date. However, it is only a matter of a time when the developer announces an update for the game that will contain both the Grounded mode and permadeath settings.
