Indie developer Korgorus has announced their brand new shooter Dark Gravity which takes its inspiration from Japanese classics. Dark Gravity will release exclusively on PC in late 2020 and will offer a high difficulty based gameplay including tons of enemies and bosses for players to kill. Dark Gravity takes inspiration from classic Japanese shooters such as Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga.
Dark Gravity is currently in development and the Ultimate Games S.A. will be responsible for publishing the game. The title is aiming to be an intensive shmup type shooter which is purely singleplayer and will not be really easy to play. The developers are particularly working at making the game pretty difficult by adding large amounts of enemies and bosses in the game.
The timeline of Dark Gravity is set in a futuristic reality after World War 5 where players take on the role of a pilot whose fate is thrown into a whirlwind of events. Creator of the game and founder of Korgorus Studio Rafal Szewczyk describes the game as:
The project alludes to classic Japanese shooters from years ago. Among the inspiration behind Dark Gravity are, e.g. Ikaruga, Radiant Silvergun and Zero Gunner. Of course, there are here unique features that will make this title stand out from other productions. It is not only about stylized low poly graphics but an intriguing story and the large possibilities of crafting and expanding the fighter jets.
The difficulty level will be very important – the game at the highest level will be significantly different from the normal level. The higher the level, the more the challenges, new enemies, new bosses and additional secrets. Importantly, there are also big differences concerning the fighter jets. Each of them will have its own unique character and the weaponry can be adapted to your own preferences. All this will additionally increase the life of Dark Gravity.
Rafal especially focuses on the terms intense and very fast which means that players will need really fast reflexes to ace the game. Along with shooting and destruction, the game will also include resource collection and upgrading the fighter jet to make it better in certain scenarios. The game will feature 17 highly-diversified missions which will throw 34 bosses at the players. They will have 8 fighter jets to choose from as well.
Key features of Dark Gravity include:
- Quick and intense gameplay;
- Nonlinear campaign, intriguing history;
- Stylish, low poly graphics;
- 3 different difficulty levels;
- Crafting and expansion of fighter jets;
- 34 bosses;
- An additional mode of survival
So far only PC and Nintendo Switch release have been confirmed by the developer. The PC version will be released in Q4 2020 while the Nintendo Switch version will arrive even later than that. However, there is still a chance that the game will be released on other consoles. A Steam page is now live for the game where you can check out additional details of the game.
